Brothers Security Systems of Auburn Joins American Alarm
September 24, 2014
Arlington, Mass. — American Alarm and Communications today announced it has completed the acquisition of Brothers Security Systems of Auburn, Massachusetts. Founded by the late Douglas Brothers, the company served 350 homes and businesses in Auburn and the greater Worcester area.
Brothers Security Systems has been integrated with American Alarm’s full-service branch on Washington Street in Auburn. “We welcome the Brothers customers to our company,” said Louis Sampson, Chief Financial Officer of American Alarm. “We did not seek out this acquisition, but given the circumstances we are glad that we can help the Brothers family and serve their customers with the same high commitment that Doug had built his business upon.”
In 2013, while still working in the prime of life, Douglas sadly fell ill and passed away. After operating the company for several months, the Brothers family reached out to American Alarm to consider merging the operations for the benefit of the Brothers’ customers.
“For more than 20 years Doug made personal service and concern for his customers’ security his life’s work. He was a talented and dedicated security professional,” Breyn Brothers, Douglas’s widow, wrote to customers in a letter announcing the acquisition. “Looking to the future, I know he would want all of his customers to be served by a company that shared his values and commitment to quality. That’s why I chose American Alarm.”
Monitoring for Brothers Security Systems customers has been transferred to American Alarm’s 24-hour Security Command Center in Arlington, Massachusetts.
