A panic alarm was received from several locations in a bank in Everett, Massachusetts. Police were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, police confirmed one male suspect had robbed the bank and fled. A photo of the suspect was obtained from the bank’s video surveillance system and an investigation began. Later, on November 29, another branch of the same bank was robbed. Our Central Station operator received panic alarms from the second bank and dispatched police. As the suspect fled, an off-duty police officer nearby noticed the man running. A die-pack attached to the stolen cash exploded as the suspect ran. The off-duty officer pursued on foot and communicated with police headquarters. The suspect was ultimately chased down and arrested while hiding in a portable toilet and charged with both robberies.
