What Sturbridge is Known for...
First settled by Europeans in 1729, the first settlers to the area came from Medfield. After being settled for only eleven years, the town became incorporated as Sturbridge. The name Sturbridge came from the town of the same name in England, Stourbridge. After settlers had originally come to the area, the town was primarily an agricultural community. As the years went on, mills in town became the main source of income for residents. Today, the town has a population around 10,000, and is primarily a residential town with little industry.

American Alarm’s featured business security system in Sturbridge, MA
Sometimes events that can affect a business security system are beyond anyone's control. Recently, an office building of one of our long-time commercial customers in Sturbridge was hit by lightening. The intensity of the strike severely damaged the building's security and fire alarm system, in addition to other electrical components within the structure. Our 24-hour Security Command Center immediately picked-up the problem and our crews swung into action. We worked with the client to replace and upgrade the building's security and fire alarm system to minimize any disruption in the security plan for the premises.
