In Boston’s South End, there is an eclectic mix of uses in many buildings. It is common to see stores or cafes on the first floor of a building with residential units above. Such was the case for one recent American Alarm customer in the South End. A specialty retail shop opened on the first floor of a multi-story brick building. The store owner, at first, didn’t see the need for a business security system, given the residential components above.

Unfortunately, just two weeks after it opened the store was vandalized. The owner, based on word of mouth recommendations, called in American Alarm to install a monitored business security system with intrusion detection on the perimeter and motion detectors on the interior space.
